I’ve created my own monsters and I am well aware of it. My kids ask to bake things on the regular, which I love, but I don’t always love the cleaning up. I’ve also had a few friends that say they love looking at the recipes on the blog, but don’t have the time or energy to make them.
I have come to answer your prayers. Ok, maybe not prayers, but I have something great for you that each take less than 2 minutes to prepare. Who can’t do that?? I promise, it even looks and tastes good enough to get your mom badge if we were still in Girl Scout days. ( Which PS, shouldn’t that be a thing? I totally deserve a vest with badges and flair for what I do)
Apple Dumpling Rolls
Ingredients
1 Roll Honey Crescent Roll Dough
1 Large Apple
Butter to Spread
Cinnamon
Sugar
Directions
- Heat oven to 400 degrees
- Spray pan or prep with parchment paper
- Core and cut apple into 8 pieces
- Unroll crescent roll and separate into the 8 pieces
- Spread with butter until covered
- Coat with cinnamon & sugar evenly
- Place apple piece on large side of roll
- Roll up and close in end with extra flap on the side
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top
- Bake 15-20 minute ( ovens may vary)
- Remove and let cool – butter/sugar mixture will be hot
**If you overdo it with the cinnamon/sugar (which I do on purpose) then you get a hardened caramel glaze on the bottom that is amazeballs**
Chocolate Crescent Rolls
Ingredients
1 roll Honey Crescent Roll Dough
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Directions
- Heat oven to 400 degrees
- Spray pan or prep with parchment paper
- Unroll crescent roll and separate into 8 pieces
- Take approximately a tablespoon of chips and cover the dough
- Press them into the dough firmly so they stick
- Roll up as you normally would a crescent roll
- Place in oven for 13-15 minutes
- Remove and let cool slightly – these are the best eaten still slightly warm!
** Optional – Drizzle with peanut butter sauce for an even more decadent treat!**
If you have your kids help with these, they will legit feel like they are baking. Your house will smell amazing and your tummy will thank you. I’m not saying these are the healthiest, but a chocolate croissant from Panera has around 370 calories and one of these chocolate croissants has less than 150.
You don’t have to dirty every bowl in the house to make a homemade treat and you get to spend time with your kids. Sometimes a few minutes like this is what everyone needs!
